Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary
Manages the development of products for the organization, including defining the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for one or more product lines. Leads cross-functional teams through the development life cycle to ensure product success.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Ensures IT products and features align with enterprise goals, including driving sales, improving efficiencies, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Translates business goals and end user needs into product strategies. Communicates product direction and priorities to the product team and business partners.
Documents, reviews, and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met.
Formulates, tests, and refines assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
Makes product decisions that drive value, including identifying issues, obstacles, and dependencies associated with product features and enhancements. Provides regular updates to leadership on product progress.
Participates in product standups, iteration planning sessions, product demonstrations, and retrospectives. Condenses technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
Collaborates with various product stakeholders to identify roadblocks and resolve issues.
Identifies goals, metrics, and appropriate analytics to measure product performance. Makes product recommendations and refinements based on learnings.

Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-departmental problems. Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes.
Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross-departmental considerations are often present.


 
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


 
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 8+ years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details

  • This position will be leading a new product area focused on Property Improvement.  The full scope is being defined and needs someone who can lead product strategy as it relates to IT. 
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, including product management experience.  Must have experience creating and executing a product roadmap.
  • Understanding of the customer journey and UX focused product management.
  • Experience with growing a new product area preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever changing matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency in modern LEAN product management practices and agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field preferred.
