    Job Description & Qualifications

    Job Summary

    Responsible for Identifying operational data requirements for the business unit and ensuring critical data is available and managed in accordance with data governance standards.  Reconcile the need for process changes vs. data modifications through change and conflict management.

     

    Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities    

    • Partners with IT and Data Governance to implement, modify or discontinue data management practices.  Identifies and implements data acquisition strategies.
    • Develops and continually assesses strategic analysis of the environment and work content, ensuring  both quality and productivity.
    • Works closely with the Data Governance Team to ensure the operational realities of the data as well as known operational needs are communicated.
    • Partners with key stakeholder groups and internal customers, to ensure that any data problems are addressed swiftly, while upholding the data governance standards.
    • Leads and coordinates teams responsible for data management for specific data domains within the business unit.
    • Ensures the team meets the service level agreements for data management in a timely and efficient manner as well as optimizing the data management function.

    Nature and Scope

    • Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
    • Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
    • May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professionals IC's at the senior or technical advisor level.

    Work Environment     

    • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
    • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
    • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

    Education and Experience     

    • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 9+ years experience in related field including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.

    Preferred Qualifications

     

    • 10+ years of experience working in an enterprise sized data environment
    • 5+ years of Data Management experience, which includes defining and enforcing data standards and meeting operational metrics
    • Experience leading 1st line management, with both technical and business skillsets. Providing guidance and motivation to deliver outstanding results
    • Technical experiences with: GS1, SAP, PIM, DQ reporting, ecommerce platforms, EIM
    • Project Management and Change Management delivery techniques
    • Advanced retail merchandising, commerce and supply chain knowledge
