Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

 

Responsible for supporting and maintaining intranet and/or internet sites, mobile and web applications, and site concepts and interfaces that incorporate usability concepts. Assist in defining informational needs and scopes of various projects and support updates and the development and maintenance of online forms with workflow capabilities.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Verifies that web content adheres to design standards.
  • Performs user interface changes and customizations to websites and web applications
  • Answers general user questions and responds to user issues. Troubleshoots user issues with existing sites and resources. Monitors sites for incorrect and dated content and revises content as necessary.
  • Produces graphic sketches, designs, and copy layouts for online content.
  • Determines sizes and arrangements of illustrative materials and copies. Selects styles and sizes of types and arranges layouts based upon available space.
  • Develops user interfaces for web-based applications.
  • Manages timelines and deliverables for numerous active projects.
  • Meets with department representatives and determines department needs and potential solutions.

Nature and Scope

  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.
  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must pass the Drug Test
  • Must pass the Background Check
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience designing large-scale websites with an emphasis on functional design and content integration.
  • 3+ years of experience in researching and bringing-to-market new products or services in B2B eCommerce space to include experience with WebSphere Commerce (FP 8) and Commerce Composer (layouts, templates, widgets).
  • 3+ years B2B eCommerce experience in an agile US based environment.
  • Strong HTML and CSS skills with knowledge of AJAX, DHTML, and XML, including experience with JavaScript and JavaScript Frameworks (Angular.js, jQuery, Knockout.js, HTML 5, CSS3, mobile responsive design, media queries, LESS, Bootstrap, JSPs and modification via Eclipse IDE, etc)
  • 2+ years of experience and understanding of Responsive Web Design, RWD Frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation), and other mobile design concepts and tools such as PhoneGap.
  • 2+ years of experience with web content management systems (WCMS), web development lifecycles, and relational database systems.
  • Bachelor's or Masters’ degree in design, Nielson Norman UX certification preferred and A/B testing tool certified.
  • Experience with MS Visio and Confluence. Proficient in Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Oracle Maxymiser, Adobe Target, Adobe Photoshop, JavaScript: JavaScript, Query, and Dojo.
