Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

Creates, develops, and shepherds execution of eCommerce strategy and roadmap for assigned eCommerce product features. Works on minimal viable product using agile methodology. Engages customers, internal and external partners to build viewpoint of the customer. Build business case, formulate KPI’s, launch product features to market and measure business outcomes.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops the product strategy for online services through research and feasibility analysis. Leads product vision for assigned projects. Conducts market research, product planning, concepts and user cases (wireframes and user flows).
  • Builds business cases for product ideas. Initiates and oversees the coordination of products throughout their lifecycle, from strategic definition to end-of-life planning. Works with design, software development and QA teams to deliver high-quality products.
  • Gathers, organizes, analyzes and documents customer's business requirements including information on products and services offered by competitors. Understands market needs and user pain points, translates to product solutions. Writes and implements product specifications.
  • Works with marketing, engineering, sales, and strategic partnership teams to flesh out, spec, document, prioritize, and execute the vision. Obtains alignment and buy in from key stakeholders.
  • Manages product launch collateral including user documentation, marketing collateral, and demos. Translates customer/clients needs into new features and new services.
  • Measures and reports product performance and quality using Google Analytics.
  • Provides market, industry and competitive expertise and analysis to drive product positioning. Understands customers, influencers and value chain to develop product offerings with clear advantage over competitive offerings.
  • May periodically attend Trade Shows and Product/Technical conferences and makes periodic visits to customers' offices and field locations to gather market intelligence and feedback.

  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

     

Work Environment

 

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).
  • Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

     

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must pass the Drug Test
  • Must pass the Background Check
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

     

Education and Experience

 

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five years B2B eCommerce product management in industrial distribution and/or contractor supply. Proven experience in managing day-to-day relationships with external business partners.
  • Help HD Supply Facilities Maintenance (FM) customers purchase products seamlessly on HDS website, mobile app, and tablet with user-friendly customer journey. The expectation is to build eCommerce product roadmap, execution and measurement for online features such as add to cart, add to list, checkout, home page, user registration, notifications.
  • Experience in Certified Scrum Product Owner, MS Visio, Confluence, Management degree, A/B testing tool certified, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Oracle Maxymiser, Adobe Target
  • Experience developing and maintaining multi-generational product plans (MGPP).
  • Experience in User Experience, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine LearningFamiliarity with ecommerce and web technologies such as AJAX, SQL, JavaScript, etc.
  • Previous track record of working with cross functional teams in the development of product offerings, marketing collateral, product packaging and brand positioning.
  • Previous experience researching and bringing to market new product lines or services.
  • Experience leading B2B commerce applications, as well as broad knowledge of online commerce.
